At a minimum, we expect an application to include two elements: a cover letter and a resume.
The cover letter
We form our first impressions from your cover letter, this is where your character can shine through. A cover letter should set you apart from other candidates, and make us want to meet you.
We expect cover letters to be job specific. If you are applying for more than one position, rewrite each letter carefully, directing it to the specific vacancy.
To stand out from the crowd explain, in a precise and balanced manner, how your skills meet the requirements of the job you seek. This is not a long list of positive personality traits, but intelligent reasoning for why you are right for the position.
To be considered for a position with Novo Nordisk, applications must include the following information:
Your name, address and telephone number.
Your educational background and practical experience from previous jobs.
Your special reasons for applying for the job in question.
The reason why the company or the manager should pick you for the job.
Common mistakes include:
Forgetting to write your name and address.
Forgetting to state the exact position you are applying for.
Sending a standard application not relating it to the specific position.
We ask for resumes in order to obtain a more detailed overview of your career and vocational qualifications. We like resumes to give a brief and accurate account of your professional career with special focus on the aspects you consider most likely be most relevant for the position applied for.
Apart from the resume, we also ask you to enclose a copy or a transcript (if sent online) of relevant diplomas. Otherwise, you are welcome to send your diplomas electronically.
All applications will be shredded after six months.
