Management
Novo Nordisk has a two-tier board structure consisting of the Board of Directors and Executive Management. The two bodies are separate and no person serves as a member of both.
The Board of Directors
Board of Directors consists of members elected by the shareholders and, in accordance with Danish legislation, employee-elected members.
On behalf of the shareholders, the Board determines the company’s overall strategy and actively contributes to developing the company as a focused global pharmaceutical company.
The Board supervises Executive Management in its decisions and operations.
Executive Management
Executive Management consists of the president and chief executive officer and four other executives and is responsible for day-to-day management including organisation, allocation of resources, determination and implementation of strategies and policies, direction-setting and ensuring timely reporting and provision of information to the Board and the stakeholders of Novo Nordisk.
